The NIMART course has been developed as a response to the call to action by the South African Government to strengthen the response to HIV and TB epidemics and is specifically developed for and aimed at professional nurses working in the field of HIV and TB. NIMART improves the effectiveness of HIV programmes in primary health settings.
The 5-day course is a standalone intensive course that focuses on the management of TB, HIV and STI’s as well as strengthening counselling skills, monitoring and evaluation of HIV and TB programmes.

The short course in NIMART is a distance (e-learning) course.
Participants are required to complete this course within 3 months from date of registration.
The following topics are included in this short course:
Participants are assessed through means of a pre- and post-test assessment.
Accredited according to the HPCSA’s Medical and Dental Board Guidelines for Healthcare Professionals for 30 Clinical CEU’s on Level 2.
FPD will award participants with a certificate of completion for this course, should they successfully complete the assessment process.
