Requirements for spirometry testing in the international standards have been updated recently, it is important that these changes are incorporated into the guidelines that are used for spirometry testing in the workplace.
Performing spirometry can be physically demanding. Healthcare professionals and workers performing screening respiratory function in an occupational setting must be updated on a regular basis to ensure they are equipped with the latest information and be confident to deliver the best testing service and information for their clients.
Accredited according to the HPCSA’s Medical and Dental Board Guidelines for 5 Clinical CEU’s on Level 2.
On achieving this course, a learner will be able to:
Health care professionals/workers conducting spirometry testing in the occupational health setting.
This is an online course, content is presented in the form of video lectures, reading materials and resources.
The following study units are included in this short course:
Participants are required to complete a pre- and post-assessment and a pass rate of 70% is required to receive a certificate of completion.
Participants have 1 week from date of registration to complete the course.
FPD will award successful participants with a certificate of completion of this course should they successfully complete the assessment component.
